June 22, 2015 (Addis Ababa) - In a significant announcement, Dr. Stefan Locke, head of the European Union's development cooperation, reaffirmed the European Union's commitment to further strengthen its development cooperation in Ethiopia. The Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Fitsum Assefa, warmly welcomed Dr. Locke to her office, where they engaged in productive discussions.

The European Union has been actively engaged in development cooperation in Ethiopia for an extended period. Building on the recent successful efforts to bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the northern region, Dr. Stefan Locke confirmed the Union's desire to enhance the existing cooperation during the meeting with Her Excellency Dr. Fitsum Assefa.
