Organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Planning and Development, 18 countries and various international institutions participated in the international consultation forum aimed at dealing with the effects of climate change. 
Mr. Mensur Dese, representative of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) of the Ministry of Planning and Development, who gave a presentation on the visit, said that Ethiopia is doing a lot of work on climate change and environmental protection. Therefore, he said that visiting the representatives of participating countries in the continental consultation forum to deal with the effects of climate change can be a starting point for them to return to their countries and implement similar projects. Mr. Mensur added that if the leaders of the countries focus on climate change and environmental protection, it is possible to create an Africa and the world that can withstand climate change. 

Dr. Ahmed Hassan, Dean of the Environmental Science Center of Addis Ababa University, who was the invited guest of the visit, said that when Ethiopia works on projects like this to deal with the effects of climate change, in addition to dealing with the problems of climate change, to create a comfortable living space for city dwellers, to carry out various events and They stated that it is to create a beautiful and visually attractive city. 

Alok Barnier, a senior climate change specialist at the International Environmental Facility, said that Friendship Square is not only an entertainment for the citizens of other countries, but it is also a project that is protecting the country from the effects of climate change and has made Addis Ababa as bright as its name. 
He said that the friendship square project is also a source of life that can be implemented in other countries. In addition, the way the friendship square was built is the name of the Ethiopian nationalities and the fact that each structure of the square has its own meaning.
