Press Release on AfrEA's 25th Anniversary Celebration in Addis Ababa

A press conference, which was organized by the Ministry of Planning and Development was held regarding the 25th-anniversary celebration of the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA), which will be celebrated in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from June 16 to June 18, 2025.

During the press conference, Her Excellency Tirumar Abate, State Minister of Planning and Development, together with the presidents of the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA) and the Ethiopian Evaluation Association (EEvA), announced that over 300 foreign participants, including heads of government, evaluators, policymakers, and development professionals, are expected to attend the event. They also stated that discussions will focus on the transformative changes in monitoring and evaluation in Africa.

It was also noted that AfrEA's Jubilee celebration has been organized in collaboration with the Ethiopian Ministry of Planning and Development, the Ethiopian Evaluation Association, and other key stakeholders.

The anniversary will be celebrated under the theme: "25 Years of Excellence in African-rooted Evaluation: Building a Stronger Future Together."

The association holds biennial conferences, which have been instrumental in recognizing and valuing African-based methodologies, and in ensuring that African voices shape global evaluation achievements.

The conference is scheduled to take place from June 16 to June 18, 2025, at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa Conference Hall.
